Overseeing an integrated customer communication strategy for Virgin Media from launch, including an award-winning print title (described as ‘like looking at the future of magazines’) and digital solutions consisting of email, social media and apps for a combined audience of 3.2million.

Co-editor of this academic journal (incorporating peer-reviewed papers, essays, interviews and creative writing), focusing on one of the pioneers of the 20th century British novel.

As editor of 4music.com I was responsible for managing and commissioning Channel 4’s music website including its rebranding as ‘4music’ and instigating a nationwide talent search and other groundbreaking initiatives.


2006 – 2007
STYLE AND TRAVEL EDITOR, ESQUIRE
As Associate Editor I was responsible for commissioning the Style and Travel sections of Esquire magazine (UK) as well as feature writing – interviews included Eric Cantona, Peter Tatchell, Kevin Pietersen, Franz Ferdinand, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, Rio Ferdinand and Kevin Bacon.

DEPUTY EDITOR, i-D
Working closely with the editor Avril Mair and the founder Terry Jones in commissioning, writing and editing features for this landmark fashion and youth culture title during its most successful commercial period.

Joining as staffwriter and working my way up to Associate Editor, commissioning and writing features as well as overseeing a number of sections including the ‘Spectator’ front section and groundbreaking ‘Something Else’ opinions section.

Joining the team as work experience on this legendary popular culture title, I supplied the content for the Informer global news round-up, before becoming a regular contributor for seven years including several cover stories.
